Meet Mariana

In her own words:
“I’m Mariana de Guevara. but most people call me Marian. I’m in the beauty industry since I was 14 years old, or since 20 years… yes, I’m 34 years young! My career path lead me from being a fashion designer and professional model to working as a senior consultant with an international beauty company (L’Oréal Argentina), professional speaker and finally, London-trained make-up artist.”

This temperamental, irresistibly cheerful happily married mother of two specialises in bridal and fashion, and is passionate about making women look and feel gorgeous.

– Mariana, what was the first ever RBR product you’ve used? What was your impression?
– My first RBR product was the Colour Burst Lipstick in ‘Raw Silence’, I remember my face, being struck with awesomeness and my: “Oh wow!!!” feeling when I applied it to my lips – I was recording an Instagram story at that very moment.

– What is beautiful skin to you and what do you do to achieve the look?
– To me perfect skin is not just about radiance, softness and make-up applied perfectly, because beautiful skin – in my opinion – begins inside, with a good sensorial and relaxed experience. I don’t just carefully choose the right type of products to put on, but I begin with a gentle skincare application and a soft massage. I keep applying the foundation a relaxing and light experience by using a damp sponge and several tiny layers of product to achieve the right coverage but a very natural look and feel.

Which make-up artists do you find particularly inspiring and why?
– My mentor Kristina Gasperas is someone I admire in particular. We met during my bridal and editorial make-up specialisation training in London, which was also the best choice in my makeup artist career. Kristina runs her own Makeup & Hair Academy and keeps watching my progress and also giving me advice and support.

What is your signature look?
– Red carpet-worthy radiant complexion; tidy, full eyebrows; a lot of individual lashes to add glamour. But above all it’s always about enhancing the natural and real beauty of each woman.

– Would you share one particularly beautifying make-up trick with our readers?
– Mix lipstick with lip primer, apply, blot with a tissue paper and apply another layer. Do it twice and your lip colour will last longer than ever!

Thanks, Mariana!
