Our 10th ‘Meet The Artists’ Interview

Let’s celebrate a milestone here on the RBR blog – with the 10th instalment of our glorious interview series Meet The Artists in which we unveil the tricks of the trade and the favourite products of professional make-up artists. Our guest today is the wonderful Sonia Tamburo.

Q: Sonia, what is your vision for perfect, beautiful complexion and what do you do to achieve the look?

A: Tight & glowy – that’s what beautiful skin should look like. Drinking enough water and removing make-up every evening can help you achieve it. For added glow I mix some RBR Highlighting Liquid “Sea Of Tranquillity” with my foundation.

Q: Who do you find particularly inspiring as a make-up artist and why?

A: Pat McGrath’s work is a real inspiration for everyone. She creates unique looks for D&G, Fendi, Prada – only to mention a few. There is Pat and then there is a long time nothing…

1. Highlighting Liquid ‘Sea of Tranquillity’.
2. Editorial work, MOD Magazine (see more in this RBR post on recent press coverage)

Q: Who would you love to do make-up for, and why (a living person or an icon from the past)? What look would you go for?

A: Definitely Jessica Alba. I love her look on every occasion, from the vamp to the girl next door. Her face is almost perfectly symmetric. I would love to see her with dark purple lips and glossy eyes.

Q: What is your signature look?

A: Highlighting assets and concealing flaws.

Q: Would you share one Particularly Beautifying make-up trick with our readers?

A: Apply some concealer all around your mouth and blend it into the lips. This way you can get a nice focus on your lip make-up – no matter which lipstick colour you choose.

Thanks, Sonia!

Great tip about using a luminizing product such as "Sea of Tranquility" under your foundation. I'm 55 and I do this, and get compliments on my skin all the time!

I love the look of dewy skin! It brings a youthful glow without looking so oily.
